THE ADVENTURES OF PETERPATTERPOT IN THE HIMALAYAS... Once upon a time in a little village of Petaling Jaya in South East Asia, Peterpatterpot woke up on a sunny morning and had this desire to trek in Nepal, a journey to conquer the mountains of Himalayas. With a tiny red backpack and 5 gorgeous girls, he started his adventure to Katmandu, up to 3210masl at Poonhill and 5500masl at Machapuchare Base Camp(MBC) and Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).....a very brave Peterpatterpot indeed.

At 2175masl it is the most popular resort destination in Katmandu Valley. At sunrise, the Himalayan Range stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the East.

Situated 30km east of Katmandu city. Took us 45 min car drive .

It is one of the most scenic spots in the Baktapur district and is renowned for its spectacular sunrise view of the Himalaya.It also offers an excellent view of the Indrawati river valley to the east.

Surrounded by terraced hillslopes and picturesque farm houses, the hilltop resort is the epitome of an idyllic escape. Short hiking options are abound. Most popular is the walk along the ridge to the temple of Changu Narayan - with views of the Sankhu village to the right and Bhaktapur to the left.

The history of Nepal is characterised by its isolated position in the Himalayas and its two dominant neighbors, India and China.

Due to the arrival of settler groups from outside thru the ages, it is now a multi ethnic, multi cultural and multi lingual country. Population is predominantly Hindu with significant presence of Buddhists.

Nepal was split into 3 kingdoms from 15th to 18th century, when it was unified under a monarchy.

Nepal experienced a failed struggle for democracy in the 20th century. A peace treaty was signed in 2008 and elections were held in same year.

Many of the ills of Nepal have been blamed on the royal family. In a historical vote for election of constitent assembly, Nepalis voted to oust the monarchy. In june 2008, Nepalis ousted the royal household.

Nepal was formerly renamed the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal when it became a federal republic.
